From the First Lady

It seems that I have been away from church for such a long time. I very rarely miss attending for three Sunday’s in a row and I have missed the church and I’ve missed you. I appreciate all the kind cards and notes that I received for Mother’s Day and then when I was ill. Thank you for your love!

I was away in Denver for Mother’s Day, was in the hospital the following weekend and then attending the Church of God in Christ’s International Women’s Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The drive to Denver was good for me for I sorely needed to have a time of reflection between the Lord and I. I needed to sit in His presence without interruption—He heard my heart’s cry and answered me. Even though I spoke few words, He heard everything that my heart said. It was a precious time for me. I suppose much like the time when Hannah in 1 Samuel 1:10 had issues before the Lord. In verse 10, “And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the Lord, and wept sore.” In verse 13, “Now Hannah, she spake in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard.” As we look further into Hannah’s story, we see that God honored her as she sought hard after Him—He mightily answered her heart’s cry. In return, for the rest of her life, Hannah saw to it that she kept all of the vows that she made before the Lord and God blessed her tremendously!

Spiritually, I feel like I’ve been on a long, never ending journey. While I’ve kept guard over my faith to keep it in place—my faith has been stretched and strained. God has allowed it knowing that in that place my heart will seek His face. After the stretching, after the straining, and after the seeking, then God steps in to strengthen. What would we do without His strength, without His love, without His guidance? I purposed to not discuss my issues with anyone but the Lord—it was a strange time as much of my discussion was simple tears streaming down my cheeks. He heard my tears. He saw my heart. He knows all of my need and desire.

He has ministered to me during my travels as well as during the time that I was hospitalized and recuperating. He has been my helper! He is such a wonderful comforter and a shield of protection for each of us. In case any of you have been in the “valley of the shadow of death” as (it feels like I have been), just realize that God is the restorer of our souls. Let’s help and pray for each other as we continue on in Christ Jesus. He is our strength for this journey no matter how long and tedious it may seem.

Be encouraged to wait upon the Lord, though stretched and strained through the trials of life, He will strengthen you to go all the way to see the end of the whole matter!

Much love to each of you!

“Truly my soul waiteth upon God; from Him cometh my salvation.  He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.  My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from Him.  Trust in Him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before Him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.”   Psalm 62:1,2,5,& 8

Thrifty Tips from $ister Tee - Giving!

Click To Download    It’s me again sharing some money tips.  Well, this month I want to share the most valuable, infallible tip of all: PAY YOUR TITHES!  Simple concept, right?  Yes it is, but sometimes it seems hard for us to do.  God asks for our first fruits.  He tells us to bring all the tithes to the store house that there may be meat in His house.  Let us not rob the Lord by holding on to our tithes and offerings.  Believe me, if you cheat the Lord, you will pay it back in one way or another.

I am not trying to bring on guilt, but the rewards of tithing are great.  You will be blessed.  These blessings come about in different ways.  The reason why I am able to find all the bargains and find items seemingly tucked away for me at the “right” price is because I pay my tithes and offerings.

I encourage you to be faithful in your giving and watch God mark down that thing you’ve had your eye on for a long time, but just couldn’t pay that much money for.  I am a witness, it happens to me.  God tells us to prove Him and see if He would open up the window of heaven and pour out a blessing that we won’t have room enough to receive.  All it takes is one window to be consumed with blessings from above.  Are you waiting for your window to open?  I am.
